Week 4 - Climbing on the roof and peeking out windows :)

October 3-7

Week 4!!! This week we were lucky to have great groups helping us from KPMG. We finished getting our roof trusses in line, did some tweaking here and there, and had fearless volunteers up on the roof sheathing and weatherizing! Some finishes inside included hurricane clips, insulation, etc. We also got our first windows in this week, which was really exciting! It was a fun week and the KPMG crew was a a huge help and a pleasure to have. Throughout the upstairs process in week 3, and this week... we were also very excited to meet our future homeowner Abdul, and two of his family members, Abdul and Abdi. It was so great to have them on site and they were also a huge help! :)

Week 3 - Up we go!

September 26-30

Week 3 was a week of tremendous progress and also our last week with our house sponsors, Bank of America! Fantastic excited volunteers helped to haul up all the second floor walls (and trust me, HAUL is the key word here) and all of our roof trusses. All the interior and exterior upstairs walls were planned out, sheathed, insulated, and installed. We also completed the staircase, and of course picked the windiest day of the week to put up all of our roof trusses. It was a busy week, and so worthwhile as the house really began to take shape. Thank you again to all of our B of A staff members who helped us in the beginning weeks, it would not have been possible without you!

"And they're building a stairway... to heaven..." :)
